On behalf of the Board of Directors of the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce, I write to let our valued members know how grateful we are for your dedicated efforts to sustain your businesses and the St. Croix economy during the passing and aftermath of Hurricane Irma.  We are proud and thankful for the instant call to action and the magnanimous response of our business community, non-profit organizations and St. Croix residents in donating goods, services and money to the relief effort. Together we are addressing the urgent needs of St. Thomas residents, many who lost all their possessions in the devastation of the hurricane. Whether it be housing, food, medical assistance, or supplies, our members are all in, and working to be an integral part of the St. Croix relief center.

We are mindful that many members of our sister organization, the St. Thomas/St. John Chamber of Commerce. are facing personal and financial challenges that will truly test their entrepreneurial spirit in the coming months. When disaster occurs, we know that business owners turn their attention to employees’ needs, financial matters, insurance, etc. and often put their personal needs last. We want them to know that we stand shoulder to shoulder with them in support of their efforts to rebuild their lives and businesses as soon as possible.

At the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce, we intend to do our part.  With the understanding that the Government of the Virgin Islands has advised the postponement of scheduled visits to St. Thomas and St. John for the safety of visitors and to facilitate more efficient restoration, we are convinced that St. Croix can offer abundant solace to travelers who need respite from other storm ravaged locations. For so many others around the world, St. Croix can be an equally inviting Virgin Islands vacation option while our sister islands rebuild. We are counting on our St. Croix businesses and residents to enthusiastically welcome visitors with open arms, providing “A-class” customer service, top-notch accommodations and friendly interaction.

Please let the St. Croix Chamber know how we can be of assistance.  Contact us at info@stxchamber.org or 340.718.1435.

With warmest regards,

Kimberly McCollum
